Working as a fieldman for the W.R. Roach Canning of Owosso as well as running the family farm, Cecil J. Baker saw a need in his community and founded Baker Insurance Agency in 1934.

The business flourished and in 1968, Cecil’s son, Gerald Baker, joined the agency making it a true family affair. Shortly after, in 1969, Baker Insurance Agency relocated to downtown Lennon, Michigan and continued to grow with Gerald’s son, William Baker, joining the business in 1976.

In 2021, the agency changed hands with Patrick Baker taking the helm. While Baker is the agency owner’s last name, Patrick is of no relation to the original Baker family. However, the mix of old Bakers and new proudly continues the tradition of treating your needs as if they were our own. Our team has over 180 years of combined experience in insurance. And though daily operations have changed considerably since our beginning, we continue to uphold the high standard of service and care our customers and community have received for over 90 years. 

Our business would not be where it is today without the dedication and hard work of our outstanding employees and our welcoming community. We look forward to serving Lennon, Michigan, and surrounding states for many years to come.
